Review: Des Friel

Anybody hear Des Friel on Ali O'Brien's GMR programme 'Sounds of Folk' last Monday? He did a great song called "Born on the Southern Side" or the 'Dublin Song' as it was titled on the programme. Heard Des sing this before in sessions with his own guitar accompaniment but here he was ably assisted on multi-instruments (of course) by the always fab Marrtin Allcock. Be nice to get a copy of the cd if it's available. Any ideas Ali or anyone.

If you've never heard the programme before, its on at eight pm on Manchester GMR (football allowing) and plays some good stuff with studio guests, reviews and interviews.

Just incase you access this again, although it's a long time since Jan '05, my brother Desi has this song on his latest CD "Cirumstances" along with some other really good songs/music. I love it - hope you do too - if you get to hear it.

Is mise,

Tony Friel.
