Unreleased songs of Luke Kelly

Who knows songs which were sung by Luke Kelly and which were never released on any official album of Luke or The Dubliners? Are there any private recordings existing?

Phil Coulter song ' Scorn Not His Simplicity ' Luke was filmed singing it on the Jim McCann TV show and never sang it again.
He was very moved by it.

I have a b-side of a single "Bold Princess Royal" which I believe haven`t been released on cd. There must be more rare stuff in RTE archives than "Scorn not his simplicity", which he also sang as a duet on a tv show called "Startime with Geraldine" by the way. I wonder how Fairport Convention got all their rare stuff from BBC archives, maybe Dubliners should do the same? Live I can only remember him doing one song I think he never recorded, and that is "The jug of punch"(together with Ciaran Bourke).

'Scorn' is on 'Revolution' as well.

The error may have arisen from this paragraph (or it may not):
[1994:] Phil also wrote Scorn Not His Simplicity with Luke in mind. The song was deeply important to Phil, as it was about his own handicapped child, and Luke himself was so moved by the song that he sang it only once in a public forum, as a guest on a Jim McCann show. He made a powerful recording of it and sometimes sang it at private gatherings, with Phil at the piano, but steadfastly refused to sing it in concert. (from: Geraghty, Luke Kelly 124)

Where was the orchestra hiding?

For those on dial up, diesel, steam or treadmill, that was a well rehearsed, impromptu, studio, fireside version of Luke Kelly singing "Scorn not his simplicity" with the Dubliners and several half empty glasses of dark and amber liquids.
Well worth the time taken to load if you're into raw Dubliners folk.
And Yes. Once again, Luke's right finger manages to find his ear hole.
I really liked the whole rendition.

Jeeze, you made me listen again. There is a bass and drumbeat in the mix. You think there's an orchestra too?

Luke was a member of The Critics Group back in the sixties and there are a couple of tapes of him singing in a workshop session which, to my knowledge, have not been released, 'Skippin' Through the Heather(?), 'Song of the Drowning (Amhrán an Bhá - in English)'.

Jim, since this thread was initiated a lot of previous unreleased tracks were published with the Luke Kelly dvd "The Performer". I was one of the collectors for this edition and work as the official archivist in behalf of the Dubliners. The tapes from the Critics Group are absolutely unknown by all 3 Dubliners' archivists and by the Dubliners themselves. Could you give us any more detailed information please.
You may have a look on the official Dubliners' website under:

I have a (cheapo) CD called something like the Dubliners Greatest Hits, the usual sort of thing with cheap CDs, in that the content could hardly be described as their greatest stuff. But there are some good songs and tunes on it, as you would expect, given they didn't do any rubbish (to my knowledge).

Anyway, on the CD is a version of "Scorn Not His Simplicity" and I wondered who was singing it. Although the vocalist has an Irish accent, he doesn't sound like Luke's normal vocal style - but was it him, singing in a more 'pop' style than usual, or was it someone else (it doesn't sound like Ronnie Drew, I know that!)? Does anyone know the CD in question? I'll try to dig out the details if I can.
