Can anyone tell me who the accompanists and female singer are on M W-R's 1971 Trailer LP? Are they the people pictured on the front cover?
Thanks,
MJ

Could it have been this one from Martyn

Ned Kelly And That Gang

Origin: UK Label: Trailer LP
(EX/EX+) 1970/1st- Rare original first pressing! Austrailian folksinger and guitarist, here with a band, this was his first LP released in Britain by Martyn Wyndham-Read, where he's still popular today. Backed by Dave Bland, Tony Wynne, and Terry Potter.

He is performing at The Grove, Leeds, UK. on Fri 11 Feb.

Might be able to get an answer from the man himself :0)

Yes the accompanists on the Greenish covered Trailer LP from 1971 are the people pictured on the front.

From memory, before I dig out the LP, the people are those mentioned from the other LP ie Dave Bland, Tony Wynne, and Terry Potter plus Nic Jones, Dave & Toni Arthur (Toni being the female voice asked about) and Packie Byrne. There may be others, I'll dig out the vinyl and check.

An excellent album, but sadly buried away with much of the Leader/Trailer stuff.

Thanks Kevin. There is one less person on the cover. I recognise PB and NJ and TA and MW-R.

MJ

'Greenish'? I would say brownish or sepia if LER 2028 is the album in question.

Greenish is my memory but I haven't got it in front of me, so if you have Stewie I'll defer to your view :-)

I've had a good dig into my vinyl but it's not as organised a my CDs and I keep getting distracted by finding lots of Old Leader/Trailer stuff - Derek & Dorohy Elliot, all Nic Jones's, Alsitair Anderson etc.

Still it'll come to the top shortly.

Greeny brown is my recollection though I foolishly sold all my vinyl for a song in about 1979 when I went to live in Germany. When it was released, Martyn (who ain't an Aussie!) got invited onto Late Night Lineup on the very new BBC2 channel and he went off the TV Centre with Dave, Tony and Terry where the Costume Department dressed them up in clothes that would show up well on transmission. And they almost got away with them too!
