Celtic Connections 2005

I recently visited the Celtic Connections festival - what a fantastic festival. I'd gone up to see Kepa Junkera and noticed from the programme that Harriet Bartlett who's CD I'd brought in February was performing in concert with Phil Cunningham and Eddi Reader. This was one to see!

I was amazed at the age of 17, no way was she put off by being in the presence of two big names. She played a blinder, and sand a beautiful song. I've got to say I was taken in by her beauty and hung around at the end in the hope to meet her.

I introduced myself and commented on her great CD. She was sheer loveliness itself. I have never met such an unaffected, charming person in my life. There were others waiting to speak to her, and at no time did she make me feel rushed. Her smile made me just melt and I've met many a good looker.

If ever you see her out there say hello, she's lovely.

From now an adoring fan,

Brian

I too have met Harriet Bartlett on numerous occasions at festivals, and she's always got time to speak to you, but at the end of the day why shouldn't she? We're important too you know! Without us none of these artists would be doing what they do.

And whats all this crap, unaffected? Charming - yes, gorgeous - yes, always smiling - yes, but unaffected? Why should she be affected? This is folk mate not pop. That's what sets us aside from the mainstream.

But stop going on about her looks and personality, she's bloody good at the music and sings like an angel.

That's right - stop going on about her looks. She is a very talented performer.

Now her mother - she's more my sort of age.....and also a stunner...
