14 Feb 05 - 08:15 AM (#1409124) Subject: Seamus K @ Bound For Glory From: GUEST,MMario Last night some friends and I spent a most pleasurable evening listening to Seamus Kennedy at the BOUND FOR GLORYradio show broadcast from Cornell in Ithaca NY. What could be more fun then listening to Seamus - except listening to Seamus do Mike Campbell songs!!!! He debuted his rendition of Mike's 'Back in the Clydesdale' - which for me was the highlight of the night - tho' they were all great. My abdominals are so sore from laughing. |

14 Feb 05 - 10:26 AM (#1409286) Subject: RE: Seamus K @ Bound For Glory From: Alaska Mike I spent about 3 weeks singing with Seamus in January and early February. We shared several stages as he made his annual visit to the frozen north. We even got to watch the Superbowl together. The guy is brilliant. I'm glad to hear he's learned the words to my new beer song. Maybe the Anhauser Busch Company will sue him instead of me. Thanks Mmario, for letting us all know. Mike |

14 Feb 05 - 10:30 AM (#1409292) Subject: RE: Seamus K @ Bound For Glory From: GUEST,MMARIO yup - hmmmmm, yes brilliant does dexscribe him - maniacal fits pretty well also. My friends and I didn't get a chance to recover even during breaks - as Seamus kept coming over to our table and telling us MORE jokes - I'd blame him for my sore ribs - but can't really. the multiple renditions of Danny boy - as various artistes; the tales of "blind Lemon Pledge" - what an evening! |

14 Feb 05 - 07:38 PM (#1409910) Subject: RE: Seamus K @ Bound For Glory From: GUEST,Pamela in Ithaca I believe that Seamus was driving back to Anapolis after the show... which only adds to the amazing energy this guy has! A half a set of encores, selling more CDs, and then hitting the road at 11:30 PM +/- "Back in the Clydsdale" was a great hit all around. And it did look like you all were having fun in the cubby over there! Unfortunatly Bound for Glory shows aren't archived anywhere. Recordings are only made for the performers. But there's a great show pretty much ever Sunday evening - Those Sundays when Cornell in in session, anyway. Even if you're not in the greater Ithaca area you can listen on the web. wvbr.com/bfg You can find a list of upcoming performers there also. Hightlights of upcoming shows are Joe Crookston (now of Ithaca, relocated from the West Coast) next Sunday, Bryan Bowers on March 13, Lee Murdock on April 3, and from Quebec La Vent du Nord on April 17. Host Phil Shapiro even has some local folks from time to time. Annie and the Hedonists (from the Albany area) are worth a listen on Feb. 27. Hey, even my own a capella trio Diamonds in the Rough did the show last week! |

14 Feb 05 - 08:41 PM (#1409969) Subject: RE: Seamus K @ Bound For Glory From: Seamus Kennedy Thanks for the kind words youse guys. WYS, I wasn't coming down your way, or I woulda called. Mike, if you don't mind, I'll call the song Back in The Clydesdale, because I don't want to get sued by Anheuser Busch either. If it's called the Budweiser Song, they may get very litigious, plus I'll have to put the "R" in the circle next to the name Budweiser, and that's just too hard to pronounce. I had a blast doing Phil Shapiro's radio show Bound For Glory. Wonderful atmosphere, great set-up, and really nice helpful volunteers. Oh yeah, the audience was super, too. All the best, Seamus |

14 Feb 05 - 09:15 PM (#1409995) Subject: RE: Seamus K @ Bound For Glory From: Alaska Mike Seamus, I took the matter to the Board of Directors of Gold-N-Moose Productions. After much discourse and with the advice of our extensive legal division, a vote was taken and the "Budweiser Song" has officially been changed to "Back In The Clydesdale". In other words Tawmmie said OK. I'll try to get it on a CD before we go to England. I know it will be in great demand once I start singing it over there. Best wishes, Mike P.S.: Are you including the "brass section" accompaniment in you presentation? |

14 Feb 05 - 11:00 PM (#1410088) Subject: RE: Seamus K @ Bound For Glory From: Seamus Kennedy Mike, I'm so glad that the Board of Directors and your legal division saw fit to protect or asses. You'll sell a heap of them in England, a place known for its no-nonsense attitude to sub-par beer. Get in the studio, now, pal. And, absolutely I'm doing the brass section - just ask Mmario. Say hi to Twiggy for me. Seamus |

15 Feb 05 - 10:10 AM (#1410409) Subject: RE: Seamus K @ Bound For Glory From: GUEST,MMario Hi Pamela - yes - we had a lot of fun over in the cubby - and I'm kicking myself for 30+ years of having missed 'Bound For Glory' - (especially since I was an Aggie for 5 of those years!!!!) How often I will make it over is still up for debate - but at least now I know what I'm missing - so will feel properly guilty. *grin* |
