I caught the end of a radio programme that I think said Alison Krauss would be playing in the UK this Sept.... Anyone know the dates venues or am I being too optimistic?

It's not listed on her website yet. Ihope you have a chance to see her. It's a good show.

I seen her quite a few years ago in Belfast and was spellbound. Bought every CD since.

Ahhh Fond memories of waking up from surgery in a total stupor and thinking I could hear a fiddle playing. It was Alison Krauss playing and step dancing and offering a little cheer to patients and staff alike.

I wrote a letter of appreciation to her website and got a lovely reply from her mother. It seems she makes a point of visiting hospitals and schools whenever she is on tour. A very beautiful and talented lady.

Tour dates on the website go up to June, so fingers crossed for us in September then.

Saw her about, oh, at least five years ago in Wolverhampton. The desk had blown up, so they did it proper bluegrass styel around one omni-directional mic, stepping forward for their solos, and back again for the ensemble stuff. Sound was superb: and the band, and Alison, absolutely rivetting. Perfect musicianship. If they do tour, they're a *must see*.

Sorry to dissapoint Hamish, but I also saw them on that tour at the Warwick arts centre, and they also pulled the 'all around one mic' gag there too - I'm afraid that all instruments were radio miked as it is impossible to do otherwise -but it was still an excellent concert!!
