This is an edited PermaThread, intended to collect jumprope rhymes and jumprope folklore information. Messages posted to this thread are subject to editing and deletion.

Many years ago, I found an extraordinary Website called the Jumprope Hypertext Archive, rhymes collected and maintained by Stan Kulikowski II. The Website diappeared, so I tracked Stan down and asked him if we could post his archive on Mudcat. Stan agreed, and Jeff made a database for the rhymes and has made it avaiable on our QuickLinks dropdown menu. You can Click Here to access the archive, too.

If you have additional jumprope information or rhymes to contribute, please post them here in this thread.

Stan has his archive back online in its original form at http://www.cs.uwf.edu/~skulikow/jrope3/jumprope.htm

See my website Cocojams

The purpose of that site is to provide a forum for the presentation of folks' memories about their recent and not so recent past [irregardless of race/ethnicity].

However, previously this site focused on the presentation of examples of & commentary about games songs, handclap rhymes, and cheers that
were performed by African American children largely in the Pittsburgh, PA area from 1980s to date.

Cocojams also contains a few examples of African American slavery dance songs, freedom songs, and fraternity & sorority chants.

This site is a work in progress. I welcome your input and participation.

i have received your cocojams website with much appreciation for the work you have done with/on it.

i am honored to have had the opportunity to contribute to cocojams, under the name of vivienne. and yeah, i did have an argument with warren beatty. every time i see that son-of-a-gun on tv, i change the channel.

keep up the great work, and may you have all of the successes you deserve, in all areas of your life.

and a special thank you for being my sisterfriend.
