Having got over the 3 week cold in January I've now got another one *sniff* Any Catters should take this opportunity to see George in his 'home surroundings', a marvellous chance not to be missed! |

26 Feb 05 - 05:14 PM (#1421774) Subject: RE: El Greko at the Spotlight From: breezy O K for a banjo player, do your Welsh songs as I know they have a Welsh contingent at Hitchin also wear the Welsh shirt, with pride, and repeat 11-9 and 24 - 18 as a mantra at least there will be be audience participation in St Albans like applause that lasts for more than 2 seconds Thought you were headliners? Still , anythings better than the Rose and Crown on a Sunday night. Please give Graeme Knights CD launch for next Friday at the legion a plug! |

28 Feb 05 - 05:43 AM (#1422709) Subject: RE: El Greko at the Spotlight From: breezy and a fine set of songs from El Greko if I may say so Began with a new one 'Water melon seeds' very attention grabbing the song about his son 'The Friend I never made' is very touching 'Johnny Dont go walking with the fishes' about sponge divers opens your eyes to a way of life. 'The Mill' as recorded by Cloudstreet and 'Flowers in the guns' with reference and best wishes to Vin Garbutt was very well delivered. Others try , few succeed, with the latter last night George sang it as well as I've heard him do it for a long while. and his closing song before the encore was another newie entitled 'Angelo' is a sound finisher with a great mass audience chorus, I can see the lighters waving now. encore 'Underdog' well chosen Great support from Chris Flegg, 'Zorg,' Moses, the ref, Clive from Chelmsford and Michaels poem . Next week, well who knows what'll happen. this Friday its Graeme Knights's CD launch please see other thread |
