I just picked up his new CD yesterday and I think it is just beautiful. The man sings like none other -- it is no wonder he is known as the world's most famous Irish tenor! And man; can he ever sing! I especially loved his version of The Town I Loved So Well--it still gives me shivers. I haven't listened to any of his CD's yet....maybe it's time I did. |

One of the best things to happen to the USA was right after 9-11 at the opening of a NYC baseball game, when Mr. Tynan sang the entire song, "God Bless America" by Berlin--including the recitative like intro part which most Americans had never heard 'till then. Naturally, the crowd went nuts. I got out my old 78rpm of Der Bingle & had my neices & nephews play it. They were amazed. They all said it gave much more meaning to the song. I was glad they noticed. |
