Well that's interesting-A Guest welcoming a new Mudcat Member..

[Maybe Guest is a 'Catter without his or her cookies..Mine is not to wonder why..Hey, it's cool-I guess.]

My reason for posting is to extend a warm welcome to Fluffyruffle!

I like your tag name.

In part, Mudcat is what you make it. Share, learn, and enjoy!

I tried doing a member search for "Fluffyruffle" (with both large and small "f"). No posts. So, I went to the log-in screen and attempted to log-in as "Fluffyruffle" (again with both large and small "f"). No member data was found.

I think somebuddy's makin' fun uh us.

I'm curious: Has a Guest ever asked Members to welcome a new Member before?

Isn't that a bit strange?

Pray silence now for Mr and Mrs Guest, and their oddly named son, Fluffyruffle Guest.

Well, hell! It helps when whoever starts the welcome thread spells the member's name correctly! I apologize for accusing you of nonexistence, Fluffy Ruffles two-capitalized-words-with-a-space-between-and-an-ess-on-the-end. Welcome.

& another:-
'Fluffy Ruffle'
Nephrolepis exaltata

'Old Reliable'. Unique and easily identified, 'Fluffy Ruffle' has been with us for quite a while. This was probably the first Boston Fern relative that came with a 'cute' name. Truly one of the true 'table ferns'.

Culture for best commercial production:

Light: low ok, but bright recommended...1300 fc to 2000fc.

Temperature: Quickest finish times 63º to 85º F.

Feed: 100 ppm on constant feed (Excel or equivalent 15-5-15).

Watering: Should be allowed to dry lightly between waterings. Best pot size: 6".

Potting Mix: Must drain well and be low in salts. Should have some peat for ion exchange capacity. There should be dolomite lime present for a calcium and magnesium source.

Pest Control: Prevention is the best policy. During the hot months Talstar® plus Orthene® can be used to protect against aphids, scale and caterpillars.

Growing Times: (starting with a Santa Rosa Tropicals plug)
6" pot - 12 to 16 weeks.
8" pot - 8 to 12 weeks from a 6".

welcome any way...
if you do exist,
and if not, oh well.
life here in mud cat land
can get confusing at times.

Just wanted folks to know that I heard from a VRS
{a very reliable source} that Fluffy Ruffles does indeed exist.

And she is a she.

And she is good people.

So I wholeheartedly say "Welcome, Fluffy Ruffles,

and I hope that we hear from you soon!"
