12 Mar 05 - 10:03 PM (#1433444) Subject: BS: Anyone for Reno in early April? From: mg I'm in great need of a vacation, but don't have a huge amount of money. Reno and Vegas U.S. are usually pretty subsidized and easy to get to from west coast USA...I can get some time off I think after the first of April, and as close to that as possible. Southwest has some good fares, but I think much better to Reno than Vegas. I know at least one person lives in Vegas, but Reno might be better, cost wise and I always wanted to check out some of the old towns around there and there is a large Basque population. So, anyone else interested in meeting in some hotel, a few of us...however many want to show up? Presumably we could find a place that might let us play a few tunes in some room somewhere... mg |

12 Mar 05 - 11:58 PM (#1433469) Subject: RE: BS: Anyone for Reno in early April? From: open mike there are some awesome Basque Restaurants in nevada... whre you sit family style with everyone else at the table and pass dishes around...many courses and side dishes and dinner often costs the same for all. not much for vegetarians, and not much hope for any lambs in the area to come thru alive, but other than that, good family atmosphere and sense of comeraderie. there is a ghost town east of carson city on hiway 50 where there is a hot spring. Austin... |

It is a place with tons of history... Anyone else? It would be fun if just a few people could make it..check out the southwest prices...fares are not bad. mg |

14 Mar 05 - 09:46 PM (#1434938) Subject: RE: BS: Anyone for Reno in early April? From: Dave'sWife I could possibly do that. Can sometimes get roundtrip flights there for $90 or less. Driving is a pain the neck. That would be fun. Keep us posted. With Southwest, you don't really need reservations but it helps. |

15 Mar 05 - 01:18 AM (#1435036) Subject: RE: BS: Anyone for Reno in early April? From: mg That would be great if you can make it. I am coordinating two jobs, and I think I can get off both of them...I'm 90% sure. Fares are really not bad..about $140 for a flight from Portland to Reno and 3 days in the Silver something hotel, and you get a fourth night free. mg |

15 Mar 05 - 12:18 PM (#1435367) Subject: RE: BS: Anyone for Reno in early April? From: mg I would if I could...but now is cherry blossom time in D.C..how about inviting a few people to meet there? In a cheap hotel or something/?? Howard University runs one that is way cheaper than most...and if you watch the half price coupons inc ity books then you can get it even cheaper (or they could)....or people could do this in other cities too..now is a perfect time of year...mg |
