Subject: Lyr Add: 'Ports of Call' a traditional bawdy song
From: John M.

Hello everyone,

If you are easily offended, please STOP READING.   This thread is for mature audiences only.  Please don't post "dreadful song" or "worst song written" as you are not helping.

Below is a traditional bawdy song titled: "Ports of Call" aka Spanish Guitar  (recording).

This song shares some elements with the Spanish Guitar and Follow the Band found in the Digital Tradition database.  Also see Snuffy's chorus for Sweet Violets which shares the playing on a Spanish Guitar.

So do you sing this song?  If so when/where did you learn it?

Any help is appreciated.

Sincerely,

John Mehlberg

SPANISH GUITAR (aka Ports of Call)

Oh, the next port of call was Aden, Aden,
Where the girls didn't shag, but we made 'em.

Chorus:

Ten dollars a day, for a bunk-up each way,
And a tune on my Spanish guitar, singing:
Hi-jiggy-jiggy, fuck a little pig sideways,
My idea of a woman is a big brown ass  (shit bag)
Ten dollars a day, for a bunk-up each way,
And a tune on my Spanish guitar.

The next port of call was London
Where the girls didn't shag, so we bummed 'em

The next next port of call we were waiting
So we found us a girl that liked fellating.

The next port of call was Harro
Where the girls would only fuck in a barrow.

The next port of call was Wiggum
Where all the girls had real biggun's.

Oh, the next port of call was Lake Como
[falsetto] Where I spent all the night with a homo

The next port of call was Bombay
Where the girls shag but it was all day [?]

The next port of call was Deli
Where the girls wouldn't let come on their belly.

Notes: This text is from Medical Students Sing Rugby Songs 1970 on Sportsdisc Records.  The last of the Harry Morgan compiled rugby records.  It is also found on pg 54 of the 38th Tactical Wing Dirty Ditties songbook [ca 1968] where it is titled "Spanish Guitar".

HEY JIG A JIG

Our next port of call it was Aden, Aden
Where the girls wouldn't f**k so we made 'em

Ten dollars a day and a bunk up each way
And a tune on my Spanish guitar
Tra la la, tra la la, f*****g tra la la
Singing hey jig a jig, f**k a little pig sideways, backwards, cush cush
Shitbags, jamrags
my ideal woman's got a big brown arse

Our next port of call it was Cardiff, Cardiff
where the girls wouldn't f**k 'cos they'd got syph

Ten dollars a day and a bunk up each way
And a tune on my Spanish guitar
Tra la la, tra la la, f*****g tra la la
Singing hey jig a jig, f**k a little pig sideways, backwards, cush cush
Shitbags, jamrags
my ideal woman's got a big brown arse

Discussing "Best Rugby Songs on Tour" a version of the chorus is tagged on to the end of the "Sexual Life of the Camel". Retrieved from here on 3 August 2011.

The sexual life of a bullfrog is enough to make anyone sick,
It involves the female bullfrog
Sucking the other ones dick
But the dick of the masculine bullfrog
As he sits there all covered in slime
Accounts for the face of the bullfrog,,
And why she goes BLUGH all the time..

Singing,, I jig a jig fcuk em a little bit sideways..
My idea of a woman is a big brown arse...
Ten dollars a day
for a bunk up each way.
And a tune on my Spanish guitar...

Chorus: Three dollars you pay, for a bang up each way
And a tune on a Spanish Guitar plink, plink, plin
Singing Hi-ziggy-ziggy, fuck a little piggy sideways
Swish-switch
My idea of a woman is a big fat whore
Shit-bag, Fuck-stick
Three dollars you pay, for a bang up each way
And a tune on a Spanish Guitar plink, plink, plink

Where the girls wouldn't screw, but we force 'm, forced 'em.

Oh the next port of call it was Malta, Malta
