BS: Mudders who watch their Threads Die

21 Mar 05 - 10:39 PM (#1440208)
Subject: BS: Mudders who watch their Threads Die
From: robomatic

I had a thread, my only thread, I gave it things inside my head
I worked real hard, it was complete
I gave it heart, I gave it feet
And room to run, a world unto
itself to grow, and things to do

But curse the day, that wretched day, I gave it too much room to play
It was of logic so complete
There was no argument to meet
its penetrant ways, its fulsome ways
My thread
          fell
               down
               the
               forum's
               w
                a
                y
                  s

No wise Mudcat-ter
Deigned to chat, or
Spend a mo
With my young bro...

'Cept dreaded GUEST
with satan's bless
To cavil queer
On my lost dear

And now the mesh
Of life is torn
Til I add 'refresh'
And it rise new-born!

hmmm... except maybe the "its penetrant ways" bit. And the little e.e. cummings word sculpture. But other than that... I like it.

Perhaps your thread wouldn't have died
Perhaps your wouldn't have needed to cry
Perhaps it would not be dead
If you had placed it - up as a music thread?

Perhaps this is true,
and a thread should not die
without a reasonable question why?
But I got a thread going at this minute
without a comment, but me, in it.
I thought that someone would respond about Janis,
but it seems everyone has their head up their a*us..........

Don't curse it could be worse
No need to feel defeated
At least it dies a natural death
It could have been deleted

I woke up this morning
With head all gooey
Like in a dream remembered
I'd written this billy dooey
So let me say for the record
Don't mix oatmeal and drambuie

The threads that move the fastest here
Are attacks, insults and controversy
Although there are good music threads
Mudcat works quite perversly

The complaints move swiftly forward
With "me too", and drunken rambles.
Without some moderation here,
Mudcat would be a shambles

I KNEW IT! Freud was a cross-dresser? So what color slips did he have? Did they have a lace trim?

Some threads I love to keep going
Others deserve to die
Some threads are by some who think they are all knowing
while others perpetuate a far left liberal lie.

Some thread are fine, some threads suck
   Personally, I don't give a fuck.

Sorry ~ no rhyming:

I don't mind starting a thread that attracts little or no interest half as much as I mind adding my comment to a thread and then watching the discussion die a slow lingering death as it sinks to the bottom of the page and off.

In real life, I like to have the last word, and have been accused to going to great lengths to make sure I get it. When it happens in one of these threads, though, I tend to worry: "What did I say? What did I do wrong?"

Not my problem, PappyGator. You also can overcome your fears on this.

Never wrestle with a pig with honor on the line
Or vie with that pig over principle or virtue
You may contest with a pig for money just for money
When you're done, when you're done
You will need to buy new clothes
After you are quit of that pig
You will need a reputation
You'll need money for those clothes
You'll need money for a lawyer
But that pig will need no dough
'Cause that pig had a good time!

There seems to be several versions of this one. Not sure who wrote the original.

'Twas an evening in November,
As I very well remember.
I was strolling down the street in drunken pride,
But my knees were all aflutter,
So I landed in the gutter,
And a pig came up a lay down by my side.
Yes, I lay there in the gutter
Thinking thoughts I could not utter,
When a colleen passing by did softly say,
"You can tell a man that boozes
By the company he chooses."
At that the pig got up and walked away!

Has anyone ever done a search of who KILLS the most threads?   Poppagator, I have often thought that everytime I TOUCH a thread it must be the kiss of death as they tend to disappear below the line thereafter. I have changed deodorants and everything but nothing seems to help!

No need to wonder and to make a fuss
Leave the killing of all the threads - up to us
Don't let these matters break your heart
For 'we' will close them - before they start

Leave it to the experts - to decide
Those self-appointed and well-qualified
Unlike you - 'we' will not fudge it
'We' will be swift and quick to judge it

It turns out a thread dying isn't such a sting
because this thread has turned out to be such a funny thing!

Threads never die - they just fall off the bottom of the list.

I'll speak out - I'll not be shushed!
Do they fall - or are they pushed?

(Sorry)

GESUNDHEIT

Shatner returns via GUEST's refresh
to strike anew at our mudnest
What is needed now is a new Tekwar
to keep T-Rex from taking all before
him, We'll build him now
He'll chomp us later
We'll be raptor chow
till the next skyrock crater

We'll be sorry we didn't
take joy in the day
because we'll be so low
For disaster we'll pray

And that bastard Spielberg
Who celebrated Dinos free
He'd better be first
On the saurian rotisserie
right next to Michael Crichton
Who'll be feeding Jurassic worms
'Neath the prehistoric lightnin'

The only thing before the asteroid
That could save us
Would be a sneeze from Homer Simpson
as divine benedictus
