Since I couldn't find the exact lyrics I heard, I fudged 'em and made up my own. the 1sy verse is pretty close to what was circulating back when the first photos appeared. 2nd and 3rd verses, I took great liberties with. ENjoy and/or add the lyrics you know:

The Final version of The Ballad of Hogzilla
To the Tune of The Beverly Hillbillies

Well, listen to a story 'bout a Piggy who was overfed
til' a farmer in Alapha done shot that sucker dead
Hogzilla was his name and he weighed in at half a ton
but now his rottin' carcass is just a bunch o' bacon
pork that is...
what a waste...

He started out like Babe or just another Porky Pig
but roaming round the countryside he sure got real big
til one day ol' Ken Holyoake saw him eatin' up a cow
so he got his gun and gave him chase, Hogzilla went down
in history that is...
tall tale...

Well Ol' Hogzilla's dead and gone and rottin' in the ground
but every Georgian knows where's there's one there's more to be found
so when yer out in the Alapha woods better watch your back my friend
cuz hogzilla's older brother might jess be around the bend!
and pissed off he is..
figthin' mad!

I realize I have 'rotting' in there twice, but what can ya do?

That's too funny! I just watched that program on hogzilla yesterday. They dug the pig up to prove it's existance. Turned out to be about 800 lbs, 8foot, half domestic, half wild. Every hunter does seem to elaborate their hunting tales huh?

Just saw the National Geographic special on Hogzilla last night and I noted that the song is wrong in one aspect..

Ken Holyoake is not the guy who shot him, Chris Burgh is, Ken Holyoake is the guy who snapped the picture of Chris and the carcass.

Also, it was not Alapha but Alapaha.

Simply replace the 2nd "rottin'" with "decayin'".

Works for me LittleHawk. I didn't make up too many of these lyrics, just fudged 'em where I had holes. Let me rework the thing to reflect that and the other two errors plus some akward parts. Mind you, the song I heard used Ken Holyoake's name.. so maybe I shouldn't mess with that. Plus, the guys who shot him never claimed he weight half a ton.. what can you do? I took the lyrics as I heard them. Here's the new and improved version.
