According to the Medway Council site, it is "scheduled for 30th April to 2nd May", but no further information is given.

According to the tourist office, the flyers will be available in a couple of weeks, and I have asked them to send me 6.

I imagine that the lineup is not yet finalised.

You can get the number of the tourist office at www.medway.gov.uk

You need to ask for "events". I have lost the phone number although I had it here only a few says ago.

For those who know the tribe, singing daughter Rachel is likely to be here, and her usual guitarist, Matt Loft is likely to be back fron Australia. Whether her previous or present drummers have yet mastered the bodhran I venture not. I think her other guitarist from her previous rock band, Will Chambers may also be about - he's currently on tour as a tech with a support band for Queen Adreena. Royston is likely to be here as well, and I may be able to stand briefly between Jeff and his head (so to speak). So watch those sinagrounds (spelling intended).

The Sweeps brochures are now out. There is still nothing on the Medway.gov.uk website. If anyone wants a copy of the brochure, pm me with their email address and I will scan one and email it. It is a fold-out but if it were in single pages it would be 10 A5 pages so even at fairly low resolution it will not be a small download for those on dialup. I'm broadband.

Ralph McTell is there plus plus many others. I'll be running the session in The Gordon Hotel (home of the Beer Festival) as usual. Saturday 30th April nominally 12:30 to 14:30 (but it never stops then) and 20:30 to 23:00 (it does stop then 'ish). Sunday 1st. May 1st nominally 12:30 to 14:30 (but it never stops then) and 20:00 to 22:30 and Monday 2nd nominally 12:30 to probably 16:00, but that's not guaranteed.
For those who haven't been it's the biggest gathering of Morris Dancers there is - or so I'm lead to believe. All making mayhem up and down Rochester High Street so if you've never been before give it a try. I'm pretty sure there's free camping at the Fort Pitt Grammar School, but please don't quote me. Quite a lot of the entertainment is free too.

Hi John

Are you in the corridor again or have you got the nice small bar or the dining room or what?

I think my itinerary is

Fri Nite - Bob and Kath's sinaground
Sat AM - the musical instrument fair
Sat Lunch etc - your sing
Sat 4-6 watch Pigs Ear
Sat eve - Gastove's sing
Sun AM - mooch about
Sun lunch - your session
Sun 4-6 maybe watch Slattery
Sun eve - all 3 song sessions are on so spoilt for choice!
Mon AM - mooch about
Mon Lunchtime - I might shuttle between you and Bob and Kath - partly depends on remaining beer stocks.

It looks as if Daz and Man don't have a session up at the school - officially, but who knows what adjustments there will be on the day?

Nice to see more local heroes booked, but shame no pen portraits of the local artists in the brochure.

Very silly that the Good Intent is not on the map since Gastove has a session there!

Who will get the fire regulations booby prize this year?

"Around Kent Folk" has an ad showing Ralph McTell, Cara Dillon (T.B.C.), Loer Gann (Brittany), Cajunologie, Happy Trails, and Mike West (USA).

That's all I have for now.

I suspect it'll be the same as last year, which we worked out eventually.
