I never feel quite comfortable calling it a beater, banger or stick. Even if there isn't a correct name for it...anyone got any suggestions for what it COULD be called? Love Lynne |

You can put those accents on in Word by holding the Control Key down while you hit the accent, then release the Ctl key and hit the letter. The left-slanting one is top row far left "`" (tilede "~" is the shifted version on that key) and the right-slanting one is just the apostrophe or single-quote "'", usually just to the left of the Enter key. Ctl ` a = à = 0224 Ctl ' a = á = 0225 Ctl ^ a = â = 0226 Ctl : a = ä = 0228 Works generally with most vowels, and I believe there are a few others. Since it doesn't work here, you'll have to type it in Word and then copy and paste here. The "Character Map" should be on most Windows installations, usually under Start - Programs - Accessories - and for some bizarre reason usually under System Tools. If you select a font that includes the char you want, click the character, it usually will tell you what the ANSI value is so you can code it in html if you want. John |

Mac and Windows users are here as well as the international users. It gets confusing as to who sees what. To do accents using HTML is REALLY easy. & + vowel + acute/grave + ; For example: é = é You can use this with both Capitals or lower case letters. For other accents used in other languages, there are words other than acute or grave. You can search the Mudcat for plenty of lessons on HTML. |
