The Delaware River will crest tomorrow at 27 to 28 feet, compared to Septembers flood at 32 feet. I don't know if there are any Mudcatters besides me in the Delaware Valley, but if there are, I hope you're all safe. (I live far enough from the river that it doesn't effect me). |

I knew one family that during the season kept their camper parked in the driveway loaded with gear for a quick getaway. One year it was especially bad just before Christmas, and the daughter of a friend of mine on her way to work was swept off a wooden bridge and taken downstream where her car lodged against a copse of trees. She climbed out a window and clung to the trees until her cries were finally heard several hours later and a rescue group reached her. Christmas gift packages were floating and swirling in her car. In the link given above, there are some pretty names for a couple of creeks: White Clay Creek and Red Clay Creek. Are the clays so different then? |

At least it's helping to disperse the snow. I can see why the locals call this 'mud season'. Luckily we don't HAVE to go out anywhere so we're staying home and vegetating for a couple of days while Kendall gets over his cold. |

There's still damp spots on the floor but as of this morning and (36 hours or so of rain) is seems to be okay. We are far from rivers but water tables are high. Good Luck Steve. Tinker |

The cat was meowing like crazy this morning when I got up and food wouldn't shut her up. I realized when I went downstairs to put my clothes in the dryer that the problem was that she couldn't reach her litter box. I brought it upstairs and, hopefully, she's satisfied now. I haven't left for work yet, and I'm dreading what I'm going to see. Last years flood left our campground under 9 feet of water, and the maintenance crew hasn't gotten it cleaned up for the new camping season yet. If it happens again, we probably won't have camping this year. (From my point of view, that's not a completely bad thing. I could use a break from city people who no nothing about camping or nature). Last years flood uprooted a lot of really old trees, and left a lot of trash from up river hanging in the branches of the trees that made it through. I was especially amused at the hot tub we found. Fortunately, no one was in it. Hopefully, there won't be too much damage to the homes along the river. |

The riverwalks are all flooded, and some roads have experienced flooding, but as far as I know both cities (towns) are safe. For several days, I woke up in the morning to find that our whole yard had turned into a lake. Same with the lot next to us. If it had frozen, it would have made a great ice skating rink. |

But it is the Pacific NW, after all. Good thing I came for the company and not the weather. Back home in Maine, my neighbor's cellar is flooding and last I knew, she was bailing like mad. My gramma's cellar in New Hampshire had about 18 inches of water in it before they got the sump pump fixed. Hey Steve, maybe if you got a big enough pump...? Just kidding. Keep your head above water and hoping not too much damage to your park. Money's tight enough as it is for us parkies. My park is right on the ocean, and jacqui's mention of coastal flooding has me a bit worried now. |

The Susquehanna River crests at 11 feet and is currently 15, expecting to hit 20 at a minimum. The road I live on is closed due to flooding (at the base of the mountain). In addition to the warm weather water run-offs, it rained...no POURED all day yesterday and last night. I woke up at 2:30am to the sound of thunder. I went back to sleep and later woke up to 2 inches of snow. It's still snowing, about 4 inches so far and tomorrow, it is supposed to be 60 degrees! Weird. Michelle |

The wash in my yard has made gullies despite all my landscaping efforts. The upside is the sod has set wonderfully. I was out in the woods last night and when I went over the Ocklochonee River today it was swollen to the brim. We will have more to come when Georgia slucies down all it's water in the next couple weeks. But maybe no forest fires this year if it stays moist. |

The flood was pretty bad, worse than last September's flood. All the repairs we did over the winter have been undone, but I can't really get into the park yet to see how things are. As for the hot tub, it's probably still there, but I don't know what condition it's in. I'm interested in seeing what else we'll get. Maybe a nice big propane tank. There were a few floating down the river. So far, there were no reports of deaths or injuries. I'll know more today when I get in to work. |

Rt 29 in NJ is or was underwater for most of it's length, and was undermined and ripped to pieces north of Stockton in Hunterdon County. The entrance to the park where I work was also ripped up, but we got our patrol cars on to higher ground before the flood, so I can still work (rats), but the park itself is also pretty well wrecked. Anyway, it's over, and now the clean up begins. |
