Yeah, Hugh Laurie has real depth as an actor, nice to see him in something where his eyes aren't spinning around for a change.

I was starting to grow fond of Bad Girls and The Bill too, but the buggers dropped it, although the new Dr. Who makes up for my disappointment a bit. Odd, except for Trailer Park Boys and Hamish MacBeth, not much has piqued my interest on the idiot box for a long time and then in the past couple of months all sorts of interesting things have been cropping up in genres I normally wouldn't watch.

House is one of the few shows that I try to watch regularly. I normally don't care for medical shows, but this is more like a mystery show. Too bad it's on the FOX network, where no one will ever see it.

Recently Hugh Laurie was interviewed, probably in aid of the John LeCarre adaptation.

Laurie said that his favorite thing about "House" was reading every new script, because the writing was so good.

I felt sorry for Laurie, yoking himself grimly to the punishing ordeal of grinding out a North American accent. In interviews at the time, he said it never got any easier. It was convincing, to be sure, but it kind of made your throat hurt.
