Is this any connections to the Normans under William the Bastard? I know it's been a sore spot in England since 1066. Just askin', not rubbing salt in the wounds.

Did you know that since 1066 all combatants in battles fought on British soil have had to wear safety glasses. Round here there is an opticians by the name of Harrold!

I recently heard on the radio the funniest true story I'd come across in a long time:

During discussions in the European Parliament about some milk crisis, a French delegate proposed that the only way to solve the problem would be by relying on the good sense of the farmers in Normandy ("la sagesse normande") - duly translated by the interpreter into the English-speakers' headphones as: "What we need to solve this problem is Norman Wisdom." Result: British delegates suddenly reduced to gibbering, giggling jelly.....remainder of Europeans totally baffled !

(For non-British here: Norman Wisdom - a brilliantly funny comedian and comic actor, his character creating havoc wherever he goes. Thinking about it.....he could do no worse than parliament does already).

You can blame the Normans for Kendall. His ancestors came over to England with William in 1066 and have been causing havoc ever since.

He's just keeping up the good work.

Wow! Talk about keeping up a family tradition! Kendall carries on by carrying off!

More rapine and pillage!

I might still be up for a bit of pillage, but rape, maybe not.

Isn't "la sagesse Normande" considered a bit of a joke anyway?

Of coiurse if it were 'I blame Normans', it would be which is much more suitable.

The other conjures up the image of a statue of a mass murderer or a very strange punk rock star.
