BEFORE THE NEXT TEARDROP FALLS
If he brings you happiness,
Si te guieres de verdad
I'll be there any time you need me by your side To dry away every teardrop that you cry, And if he ever leaves you blue, Just remember, I love you, And I'll be there before the next teardrop falls.
Tho' it hurts to let you go,

12 Dec 98 - 10:10 AM (#49162) Subject: RE: LYRADD(Annraoi)Before the Next Teardrop Falls From: Ralph Butts Annraoi...... There's a somewhat-schmaltzy MIDI version of this song at: http://geocities.com/Heartland/Bluffs/7812/brnxttrdrop.mid You can pull the music out of that if you have composition software such as Noteworthy. A RealAudio sample of the Freddy Fender version can be heard at: http://cdu4.cduniverse.com/programs/hurlPNM.exe?/69537976/~r-457027/0034691_0101_00_0002.ra Freddy had a big hit with this one. As I said, it's readily available on CD. Good listening......Tiger |
14 Dec 98 - 01:23 PM (#49427) Subject: RE: LYRADD(Annraoi)Before the Next Teardrop Falls From: Jerry Friedman A number-one hit, even. (It's at the #1 Songs site in the Mudcat Links, but without the Spanish.) Maybe the multilingual Annraoi has figured this out, but the first Spanish line would make a lot more sense as "Si te quiere" (if he loves you) or possibly "Si le quieres" (if you love him). Also, the only meaning I can find for "seo" is "cathedral", so I wonder whether that's a typo too. |
15 Dec 98 - 04:53 PM (#49615) Subject: RE: LYRADD(Annraoi)Before the Next Teardrop Falls From: Annraoi Muchas gracias otra vez, Jerry, Vd. tiene razón, "Si te quiere..." Al sujeto de "seo" puede que significa "catedral", pero, en ests caso, es la segunda parte del verbo "deseo" y así quiere decir "I want the best for you (two)", y la última porción de la letra puede ser "Estar conmigo cuando triste estás." o algo. ?Está bien? Con abrazos de Annraoi |
15 Dec 98 - 05:40 PM (#49622) Subject: RE: LYRADD(Annraoi)Before the Next Teardrop Falls From: Jerry Friedman !"Deseo"!
"If he truly loves you and gives you happiness, I want for you what's best for the two of you. But if he makes you cry, you can talk to me. I'll be with you when you're sad." Or something. !Gracias al Diccionario Anaya! |
16 Dec 98 - 04:50 PM (#49809) Subject: RE: LYRADD(Annraoi)Before the Next Teardrop Falls From: Annraoi Jerry, !Eso sí que es! "Estaré", al leerla por primera vez, pensé de la palabra italiana falta el acento sobre "e". Y además, pienso que Vd. tiene razón al sujeto de "estar", después de "cuando" se utiliza el subjuntivo si se refiere al futuro. Pues, se puede leer la última linéa así :- "Estaré contigo cuando triste estés." Annraoi |
