24 Apr 05 - 06:15 AM (#1469196) Subject: We sang for someone elses supper From: Trouble at Mill SING FOR SOMEONE ELSES SUPPER received it's first monies this weekend. £182:00 paid to CAFOD and 'earmaked' for FAMINE RELIEF in AFRICA. The money was raised during the KEN NICOL concert (22/04) The raffle raised (£93) and a pot went round the audience when they screamed for an encore - Ken agreed to do to if they made the pot jingle (£56) + we made a small profit, on the evening that was added to the total. Hopefully I can persuade one or two of you to 'come on board' and do something similar - either at one of your club nights or one of your performances. I'm not asking you to send me any money, just to pay it in to one of the agencies that deal with this sort of thing (CAFOD, OXFAM & CHRISTIAN AID are all on board) However - if you do something (under the banner - SING FOR SOMEONE ELSES SUPPER) it would be nice if you coul let me know the amount raised so that I can show the running toal on the website. We have a couple of smal events planned for later in the year - details on the site www.Web Site and there is a calendar where you can post any dates of events that are organised to help. There is also a forum where you can have a rant. Should you wish it, I will also link to you or your organisation Hopefully this initiative will gain momentum over the coming weeks and get some media coverage.
