High Tech companies are leaving Ireland in droves.

Could it be that bad smell of boiled cabbage?

Wittiness appears not to be your strong suit.

They're leaving the US, too.

they're all leaving and its called outsourcing to cheaper labour markets in the east because it's the nature of the capitalist, so-called democratic beast, to ensure the coffers of the coperations are feed. The cancerous outcome is irrelevant to them.

Oh, heck. I thought this was a Boycott Iceland thread, and that Martin was saying nasty things about skarpi....
Guess I'd better get new eyeglasses.

I hear that Icelandic Celtic music is very good.

Gosh Joe. Even Martin would be hard pressed to find nasty things to say about Skarpi who, by the way, will be at the Getaway. Can't wait. I have taken my Brunhilda costume out of the mothballs just for this occasion.

Does boycotting Ireland include boycotting Guinness? If so, I prefer not to participate.

Get some nice, lean pork roast (or beef -- this can be made either way). Put it in a roasting pan, and pour over it a cup or more of Guinness (grease the pan first!). Toss in a handful of dried cranberries, sultanas, raisins, and/or dried apricots and about a tablespoon of butter. Roast, covered, at about 400 to 450 degrees (watch it!). When you remove it from the oven, baste it with the liquids and pour off some of the liquid. Recover the meat and let it sit while you reduce the liquid you took off in a sauce pan -- thicken it with butter if you wish, adjust the seasonings with salt and pepper.

Serve.

It's really very good, and you wouldn't believe that Guinness could do it.

Ya can do the same with chicken, too.

Sounds good. As a by the by, a friend once served turkey that he had roasted in coca cola. Tender, moist and flavorful.

Boycott is Irish? I thought he was a Yorkshireman!

Ireland is where the "boycott" comes from after all (Captain Boycott).

Boycott boycott threads on the Mudcat. Or at least, let's not start a rash of them.

With the costs of labour both Martin and Gibson will probably be outsourcing to the Far East as well soon!

Marc told me he was starting this thread to wind up certain mudcatters who took the bait last week, so if I don't appear to be answering him it's because he asked me to stay out of it. Who was the nasty mudcatter who sent him that pm on Saturday night ????????

If you want gammon from heaven, boil the joint in coca cola. Put a whole onion in the pan as well, divine!

Curator, heard you lost your men's room cleaning job when Intel pulled out recently.

don't worry, that skill will always be needed. You should be working again, soon.

Boycott is definitely a Yorkshireman - otherwiae he would never have been able to play so superbly for God's own County!

As for the other Boycott (the Captain type one) - he was an absentee landlord in Eire who gave his name to the practice of boycotting someone or thing. Since the Irish must perforce have invented the term, it seems highly unfair to use it against them!
