(The Turks lost some 100,000 men at Gallipoli. There's some other song about it as told from another standpoint but I can't quite remember what it is.)

130,000 died at Gallipoli, half of them Turks, according to the BBC News. Wilfried is probably closer to the correct figure for Turkish dead.

The Australian band, Shekel & Hide, recorded Canakkale Icinde on their 2000 CD, Shadows, and another song, Canakkale Kan Irmagi (Canakkale River of Blood).
