The beer "Knockers" has been brewed (O.G. 1.056 - I reckon it'll come out at about 5.4%abv). I'm just wating for DIPSODEB'S husband Pat to bring the Pressure Cask round tonight so I can hand it over for conditioning.

Linda's planning to have an "Awning Raising" ceremony so that we can try out that bit of the new caravan.

Midnight Rambler - the latest edition of the "The Hitchiker's Guide to Galaxy" describes it as "the third best piss-up in the galaxy", but the two which beat it are noted as being fatal to all participants ! - mind you this picture of Richard Bridge proves that it's not that far behind !

The actual link is to http://www.freewebs.com/knockholt/Sleepy.jpg

It seems to work OK after I've been into the Folkmob ->What's On -> Knockholt page - it's the last picure on that page.

Try this link to get into the page - I haven't been through all the hmtl to see how the site works.

The knockholt page is a seperate site from the folkmob one. It is a freebie, hence the banner ad. Pat says that he has received the beer ok. Debbie is just worried that he make drink it all before we get there!

Is this an open invitaion or just a closed club?

I ask because, the last event I went to, nobody would talk to me, they all huddled together at one end of the field and I was at the other. When I approached, they would shout "F**k off you slanty eyed chink!"

How I would love to join some friendly folky type of people for fun & drink.

Very cheap unless you decide to buy one of the sheep an expensive necklace (or unless you add the average cost of booze consumed)

If anyone needs a tent, LIDL's are doing a great looking Eurohike style one for £25, but as with most of these item's they're usually ony around for a week or so. There's also a much bigger version (which should accommodate at least half a dozen sheep) for about £80.

Mindblaster, the only cost is for camping (mainly to cover the cost of the Portaloos) and that's only £4 per unit (ie tent caravan etc) per night.

Just a little note from the Wild West to say
HAPPY BIRTHDAY in advance to Mr Barden. I'm very sorry that I will not be there but the journey would be impossible. I will be thinking of you all. Have a great time and best wishes to all who can still remember me.
Things down here are not as active as they once were and publicity is a noghtmare. On the evening of 22nd May I found out, accidently, that there had been a 5 day folk festival in Plymouth (17 miles away) and it had just finished. There was no publicity that reached me and I work in a music venue!!! I am even more miffed to find that I missed Mrs Ackroyd !!!!

I am booked for Tenterden this year (as usual!) and I am really looking forward to it.
It seems that Ashley Hutchins has approved of me doing his sound. You may remember the Rainbow Chasers at Smedleys memorial last year.
My work here is "tourism" and getting time off at this part of the year would be impossible. I do wish you all a great time.
Give my regards to Pigs Ear also.
I will be starting a club here in September. It will be anounced via this message board and all the usual sources. Stay in touch and I may be in a position to offer a guest spot if you can bring 50 fans with you. Ha ha

Linda and I should be bringing the caravan down on the Thursday night.

Hartley Morris will be dancing in the vicinity that evening at:
8.30pm The Harrow, Knockholt
9.30pm The Bricklayer's Arms, Chipstead.

When we've sited the 'van we are planning to go and join them - it will probably be at the second venue which is a lovely Folk-friendly Shep's pub and I'm sure that there will be some singing when Hartley have finished dancing. If any others fancy the trip, I'm sure Linda will have a few spare seats.

Graham is getting another barrel of beer! So with that + Dave's "Knockers" we will have abot 80 pints of ale to be consumed! - perhaps we should invite Alcoholics Anonymous to send a representative !

This is your roving reporter at the Knockholt Mini Festival. We had a good session last night and after some wonderful weather today it is still a fine warm evening. Most of the usual Mudcat suspects are here Woodsie, Dipsodeb, Richard Bridge, Girl Friday, Mumbliing Len Turner, Dave Kenningham, Fisheye, Dilligaf, The Barden of England, and of course Essex Girl and Myself. We're just about to barbecue our steaks and then it'll be time for this evenings session when I can find out how this years "Knockers" beer has turned out.

Sorry about the hippy that will not be happening again as we will make sure that he is informed that he is no longer welcome to attend the event. I hope it dosen't put anyone off coming again.

A big thanks to Dave for making the great beer that gave everyone a hangover I would like to think that the punch and the slammers helped a little.

However the farmer has mentioned that one of his flock is missing now i'm not mentioning any names DB but please return it to the feild by no later than 6pm Weds without stains. LOL

Richard thank you once again. You know why!;-)

You ought to credit Kent superstars Galliard as well (Dave and Gaye Rae) - the stonking jazz-flavoured stuff from Sat Nite. Dave is possibly the best guitarist in Kent in many different styles, and Gaye a wonderful "sweet jazz" vocalist - I like her best when she grunts!

Secondly, I'm not sure about encouraging a separatist "jazz tent" (devoted, it seems, mostly to pop recorded in the last 5 years): let's all do it together (maybe in the road)!

Subject: RE: Knockholt mini-fest summer 2005 Kent UK

Galliard!

I did want to mention them but only found out their names last night! They were brilliant.

The jazz tent was originally supposed to be a place where dave silk could kip and store his drums & double bass!

Yes I believe that there should be only one main session during the evening/night. There's bags of time during the day for mini-sessions/workshops be they jazz, pop or whatever!

PS Mr Waterhouse's Daughter's house ... best song of the weekend.
