I think guitarist Tom McGuiness and drummer Hughie Flint were former members of Mannfred Mann. They turned up together again years later in Paul Jones's Blues Band. Gallagher and Lyle, a Scottish duo I believe, were the band's songwriters. I believe they wrote several hits for other people, but the only chart successes for that band were the minor hits "When I'm Dead And Gone" and the mock temperence song, "Malt And Barley Blues". "Happy Birthday Ruthy Baby" was the title song of an album. It picked up some airplay, but to my knowledge never charted. The band certainly had potential, but in my humble opinion never actually achieved anything near greatness. There were other, better acoustic rock/folk rock bands around at the time.
