But I think its fair to say its a translation to the Gaelic rather than an original. I'm not aware of any recordings. |

I assume that the enquirer is asking about the song by Ethna Carbery, not the older ballad of '98 that inspired it? I've never heard a Gaelic version of that one either! Carbery's song was certainly written in English, published in 1902. Bobby Sands wrote a long poem about McCorley, in English, but he did use the Gaelic form of his name. |
