I don't know the words to the song but I find the idea of singing about 'time to kill' to an elderly audience utterly depressing.

However much or little time you have, use it, even if only to look at or think about something interesting or beautiful - don't KILL it.

You have a point there, but I´m 64 and I don´t have any difficulties killing time. Visit my site www.singsong.se and you will learn how i do it.
Peace!

Anybody? I thought this is the land of opportunity, freedom and
helpful people. Don´t anyone remember Tommy Steele? He and Elvis started at the same time.

I remember 'I've got a Handful of Songs' and Six-Five Special, but sadly not 'Time to Kill' - sounds more like a murder mustery than a song.

TIME TO KILL
Tommy Steele

Time to kill
Well it's 'round about a million hours of ill
I've got a certain date at eight
That's almost a day away
Time to kill

What to do
Till that moment I look forward to
I walk the pavements all alone
Miss the cracks in every stone
Time to kill

Everywhere I see the time staring down at me
Will it never be the time that I long to see
Fast clocks, slow clocks
Go clocks, go clocks
Time to kill

Time, time, endless time to kill
I'm on the move and time is standin' still
Can't think of one more thing to do
What did Rip Van Winkle do
Time, time, time to kill

Tick-tock, tick away the day
Soon come the time I won't care what to say
Oh, hurry, hurry, I can't wait
Till I make that date at eight
I got time to kill
Time to kill
Time to kill
Oh-ooh, oh-oh-oooh........FADE

don't write em like that any more.

I remember going to see The Duke Wore Jeans at the Odeon on Saturday morning, and there was his face on the cover of Valentine at the time.

I also love that story about Tommy in George Melly's auto biography. Apparently Tommy's manager was his Dad, and anyway George met him backstage at some TV show and enquired if Tommy would like a pint.

My Dad sez Pints is common.... I'll have a half.
