Albuquerque Folk Festival - 2005

Just a heads up about the Abq. Folk Festival that will be coming up June 18, 2005 in the lovely hamlet of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Huge schedule of events from 11:00 am to 11:00 pm, with two performance stages, 5 workshops and three jam sessions going on every hour on the hour. The program includes the usual instrument instruction (even a beginning Bouzouki class), many dance classes/demonstrations, storytelling, and songwriting. Overwhelming pride forces me to advertise that the ladies from the Enchanted Mesa Show Chorus who won FIRST PLACE (in their size chorus) and SECOND PLACE (overall) in their recently completed regional competition will be there to host a workshop and recruit any ladies interested in barbershop singing. The lovely and wonderfully talented Mrs. Freightdawg will be there to assist the quartet "Southwest Edition" in holding the workshop.

Freightdawg - thanks for the heads up! Pity I have to work that day - I'm only about 3 hrs south of you!
Hope the day is a huge success. Please keep us updated on anything really great and let us know how it goes.
Cheers

Little update and big bummer,

I have been scheduled to work that weekend (drat not putting in a time-off request) and the aforementioned lovely and extremely talented Mrs. Freightdawg will probably be in Texas visiting family (thank goodness for being scheduled to work).

Anyway, we will miss the Folk Fest this year. Maybe better luck in 2006.
