I thought I had that CD, but I can't find it. Chuck, can you remember any phrases from the lyrics that would help us find the song (titles bring up lots of "false hits"). -Joe Offer- |

01 Jun 05 - 10:59 AM (#1497394) Subject: Lyr Add: PUT ME ON THE TRAIL TO CAROLINA From: GUEST Tarheel, it sounds like this to me: PUT ME ON THE TRAIL TO CAROLINA Delmore Brothers Left my cabin home, started out to roam. Thought I didn't like it in the mountains. Thought I'd like to stay in the city gay, But it got the best of me. CHORUS: Put me on trail to Carolina. That is where I long to be, Where the mountains high Reachin' to [reach into?] the sky; There my sweetie waits for me. Hand in hand together in the twilight, Strolling down the trail, we two, Carolina girl, sweetest in the world, Underneath the sky so blue. That old dog of mine, let me hear him whine When he smells a possum in the mountains. Underneath the moon, let me hum a tune, Strummin' on my old guitar. CHORUS Gene |

Put Me On The Trail To Carolina - George & Mary This is from the PFS 2008 Singtime Frolics near Portland, OR. Sad to say, George lost his battle with cancer a few months after this video was made. |
