Hi Hawk! Did it, did it, did it! Told you a few weeks back that I would manage to make a thread & have it drop off the bottom without a comment! Did it, did it, did it! even included an "!" in the title!
Thread :- "No discount for catters!"
Yours in a white wine sauce - Skipy!

I'll be durned. Just about an hour ago I saw that thread close to the end of the page and ALMOST opened it. Just think, I could have foiled your grand plan.

Nope. Does NOT count. You favoured the outcome when you said 'no discount'. You cannot subvert posting and then claim success. Yellow card. You can remain on the pitch but be careful, the ref has his eye on you.

gnu, if you're going to cite cricket you have to educate us on its rules. Otherwise, it ain't cricket.

Cricket is just like waterpolo except there are differences. Afetr the ball goes through the hoop you get a sticky wicket and mail it to a friend who has a billiard table. After you feed the horses, you retire to the nineteenth hole and drink lots of booze with the rugby players who have finished the seventh inning stretch. Nothing to it.

If this doesn't make it clear, I don't know what will.

"Cricket, Rules of, an 11-a-side bat-and-ball field game the object of which is to score more runs than one's opponents. Variants include indoor cricket, 6-a-side, and single wicket for which different rules apply. The laws are more copious and more complex than for any other game. Apart from the laws there is an inherent complexity in the possibilities of the game and how it is played, in its remarkable range of techniques and skills, in its technical, idiomatic, and slang language, in its dependence on the weather (and atmospheric conditions), and in its constantly fluctuating balance of power; it is one of the least predictable of games. It appears to be the only sport which may go on for anything from one to five, six, or more days. In the longest first-class match on record (the "timeless" and final Test of England's South African tour of 1938-1939) play began on March 3 and the match had to be abandoned on March 14 without a result."

There ya go.

Well done Skipy.

I opened that thread, thought 'what a load of crap', closed it and moved on.

Again, well done.

The rules of cricket:

1. Wait for the traditional english rain dances to begin ( morris tour, test match, Wimbledon)

2. Extract a sufficient number of morris men from pub, and remove bells. You now have a team. Send any two into bat on the village green. Send another one in to remove their sticks and supply proper bats.

3. Everyone play in a laid back attitude. This is easiest for the fielders, who can often play whilst sitting under a tree on the boundary with a pint in hand.

4. Carry on for a set time/ number of overs/ number of pints etc.

If you wish to comment on the game, the rule is even simpler. You may only talk about the game once every five minutes. Typical topics are the 1964 New Zealand tour, the cake Mrs Miggins sent in, or in fact anything in the BS section...

Doesn't playing water polo drown a lot of horses?

Sea horses are small but fast, and they can hold their breath for the length of a rubber.

It's because the Lions won that you're confused, and the match was at Rotorua too so I imagine some old geyser was involved, and not Gavin Hastings.

Skipy: Was it this challenge that inspired you to try for this monumental achievement?

I will confess, I was the guest who posted that challenge. Congratulations. Now, please tell me, how many times did you try before it worked?

I was inspired by little hawks thread about (I think,) world tiddly winks championships, however he may have been inspired by your thread.
I have also added a little gibberish to other threads near the bottom with only one post to block others from achieviing it!
