If you want a literal translation then Bablefish is a great site.

Sorry, couldn't make the blue clicky work.

Not sure how it would work on lyrics though!

Thats the problem Rhiannon.

A literal translation wouldn't be any good.

It needs to be translated so that the meaning isn't lost.

Hmmmm. It would seem that Mudcatters are not going to be able to sort this one?

Am I right or am I wrong :-)

Okay, here goes, second time round ;-)

Baby Believe
Tish Hinojosa

Baby believe
There's something about you
Makin' me love who I am

Baby believe
There's something much stronger
Holdin' my heart in your hand

You look at me and I see a light shinin'
Brighter than I've ever seen
Slowly but surely
I'm learnin' about somewhere
far deeper than I've ever been
Baby believe that I am

Cree mijito que tu tienes algo
Me hace querer a quien soy

Cree mijita que hay algo más fuerte
Y ay en tu manita yo estoy

Me miras a mi y yo veo alumbrando
Cariño que brilla hasta aquí
Poco a poquito
yo sigo entendiendo
Que hay algo que aprendo de tí
Cree cariño que sí

Thank you
Are the Spanish words the translation of the English lyrics above it?

If not, then I have used the translation tool that Rhiannon suggested and come up with the literal translation of the Lyrics that are in English. In which case are you able to correct it? It would be very interersting to see how much different it is.

Cheers
Les

Translated by the translation Tool

El bebé cree que hay algo
sobre usted
Makin ' yo el amor que soy

El bebé cree que hay algo
un Holdin mucho más fuerte
mi corazón en su mano

Usted me mira y veo un shinin ligero
más brillante que he visto siempre lentamente pero soy seguramente learnin
alrededor en alguna parte lejos más profundo que he sido siempre
bebé creo que soy

Hi Les,

Quoting from the CD booklet:

Spanish lyrics roughly paraphrase the English lyrics.

As for the translation made by the translation tool, well..
If I need a good laugh from time to time and have nowhere else to find it, I take a piece of text, chuck it into one of these translation tools, translate it, chuck the "translation" into the tool and translate it back to the original language (English - French - English usually does the trick).
Once I've done that, I no longer have to look far for something to laugh at ;-))

Have you ever had a helping of "Tart bottom with shrimp rubbish"??
A Danish hotel wanted their menu translated into English for the benefit of their foreign customers. However, they were too mean to pay a translator, so they used a translation tool instead..

Best wishes,

Bente

Bente
I translated the lyrics into Dutch using the translation tool and then asked my wife who is a Dutch Translator to comment on the results.

She did exactly the same as you.

She translated the Dutch version back into to English and basically it was a load of B*******. It just didn't make sense.
