They don't tell you of breaches unless they have to, and only when they can spot them. I love technology but I don't do banking online - too many experts who can't know it all and too many hackers who are these days old fashioned criminals. AND you just try and keep a PC for more than 5 years and try getting replacement parts. I have worked in the PC industry and in the military they expect lifetimes in decades. Homeland security is now being based on a rolling obsolescence of less than 5 years. The banks don't stand a chance. They have to find all loopholes all over again every 5 years. The criminal only needs one. And the cost of re-imbursing customers who gave away their own details from an e-mail no-one asked for. |
