BS: Shriek Heil! the Right gone Wrong!

Lately I notice yet more expletives and explosions on Rightwing Conservative radio shows than I used hear - even from the blustering bowbag, and drug addict, Wus Bimbo.

Today Mr Bedwed did the 'I'm Furher you idiot'move with the word 'bloody'. It would not matter if he was being funny, he wasn't, no here the man was exploding! As in ' You 'b??????y idiot'to a shocked caller.

Now its not so much that they bug me with their comical enactments of dictators past or present, rather its the evil within these ideas that they pander to folks, that worries me.

One of the most evil screamers out there today in that bracket has to be Laura Ingraham - a 'shriek heil zeiser' if ever there was one. As well as the usual hatemongering this little witch is reviving an old tried and proven race ticket which had by some accounts become so rare that few would today beleive it, yup its the colored immigrant in your town pill again!

to some recent history.

Perhaps if Miss Ungratefullham's mother's "Polish" family had gotten the welcome she extends to immigrants today, then I would not be listening to her shrieking on an American radio show!

I'm guessing, CarolC but, Mr. Bedwed might be Michael Medved (sp?) who occasionally filled in for Rush Limbaugh ...perhaps he now has his own talk show.

Here's a link

Thanks. I thought Medved was a movie reviewer. I wonder who I'm thinking of then. Did he used to be a movie reviewer?

Medved is the movie reviewer, he's also stridently to the right.

Why the link to the Ellis Island page? Yes, there were lots of laws that codified bigotry and discrimination, but you'd be better off linking to an essay or some other site, rather than sending someone to that page, because they're not going to make an issue like that really easy to find. I worked at Ellis for the NPS (not for the foundation, who runs that site) leading tours, many years ago now, and they didn't like it then when we talked about it. I'm sure they still don't like it. (We used the get letters from angry visitors, accusing us of being unAmerican if we talked about the legal discrimination practices at Ellis and other immigrant processing stations).

you're welcome CarolC

...by the way, your current or most recent imbroglio on another (infamous) thread, which out of principle I refuse to post to...

(not that you needed it, but...) I was in full support of your decision to deal with the situation/attack as you saw fit. Based on your posting history here at the Mudcat, I can't see how anyone could fault your rationale or logic. Time after time you have demonstrated your cognitive reasoning abilities to be flawless and airtight.

Idealogically, people may disagree with you on principle, but they will never win an argument with you because you launched a debate from weak, illogical premises.

I have said it before - if only our elected leaders gave as much sensitive and thoughtful consideration to the problems that confront us today as you do, we'd have less quarrelsome differences with them, even though we may not agree with them on all ocassions. At least their approach to resolving problems would emanate from some deeply held convictions (and from the heart) - and it's hard to argue, let alone triumph, against that. Part of the problem today is nobody believes in anything anymore.

Perhaps you should consider a profession in law. I know that if my civil or constitutional rights were violated - and that possibility seems to increase with every passing minute - I'd want you in my corner defending me.

You have a beautiful and admiral mind.

Thanks, GUEST,18 Jun 05 - 02:13 PM.

I think the law profession would be out of my reach for several reasons, not the least of which would be an inability to retain (in my brain) the amount of informational minutia needed just to even get through law school. So let's both of us hope that my legal services will never be needed for the reasons you state.

;-)

Carol C. - The law profession is not out of reach! I was in the professional development portion of my education degree with a lawyer who had decided on a career change. He then decided to return to law because obtaining a degree in education was too hard!

He tried to convince me that I should become a lawyer because it was easier and paid more money!

If you have a passion for justice, follow it to a place where you can actually make a difference.

Don't you have to be able to remember numbers and lots of legal precedents and stuff in order to get through law school? I think, if I had an opportunity to get an advanced degree, I would go for a masters in counseling. It's a more intuitive field overall. I think that would suit my temperament better than law. But thanks, both of you, for the votes of confidence.

I am ashamed to have to say it, but practicing Law is mostly about paying your dues, and sadly has very little to do with justice!

Once you get the patter off and do a few gigs the rest, as they say, is gravey!

G_d only knows how the innocent get off, in fact were it not for the odd sensible jury there would be a great deal more punished for nothing more than making a cop or D.A. mad at them; dare I mention Michael Jackson? demonised by Wus Bimbo ( AKA Rush Limbaugh ) over several years on talk radio.

"

????

Do you have general thoughts with your admiral mind? Private thoughts?

By reading the rest of your post, it is clear that this was a mere typo, but it did jump off the page when I saw it.

Otherwise, you do demonstrate admirable writing skills.

..and so it jumped at me as well when I went back and proofread it, after the fact....nice play on words. Perhaps CarolC will comment on the admiralty or generality of her own thoughts - but it takes no large amount of perception to see from her posts that her comments etc are exceptionally well organized and rational.

Admirably yours,
