I may be confusing this with "The Voyage" another song I absolutly hate which I know to be on his website. My band does them both and has recorded "The Old Man". Every time we play them I am overcome with such fits of near vomitus abdominal contractions tyhat I have to remember that I have on a Martin guitar and the sound hole is no place to Barf! I think we got "The Old Man" from The Irish Tenors or maybe John McCormack and thats where my confusion lays. Sorry for the misdirection. Don |

I know I've been asked to do this one a few times and even been given a copy of it and told to go home and learn it! I don't like it though. It is over the top, but then again I often think that when I hear Finbar Furey sing. I'm reminded of another that I just couldn't learn; a song called "you're the nearest to perfect"; awful.
