BS: Spaw's Re-birthday and Kat's update

Subject: BS: Spaw's Re-birthday and Kat's update
From: katlaughing

I don't remember the exact day, but I know it was sometime in early June a few years ago that Spaw had a "re-birth" through the miracles of surgical technology and has considered it a "birthday" ever since. So...sure damn glad to say he's still around and Happy Birthday, darlin'!

Also, one more huge THANK YOU for all of your good wishes, thoughts, prayers, candles lit, etc. since my surgery in May. I am pleased to report that seven weeks later come Tuesday, all things are checking out AOK and I am to start cardiac rehab on Monday, three times per week!

One thing I regret to say, though, is I do not think the Getaway will be a good idea for me, this year. Besides a few extra *bills* this year, it just seems a little too soon, physically, and I want to be in best of form, with plenty of stamina for visits, there, and up in New England where my daughter and other Mudcattters are. Part of this is also because the new venue for NEXT year sounds much better as far as accomodations...esp. heat!**bg**

Just another note: I've decided to forgo the zipper tattoo on the chest incision.:-)

Thanks, again,

luvya'llkat

Kat - It's always good to hear that you are feeling better. Just remember - slow and easy wins the race everytime. As Woody said "Take it easy - but take it"

Many Happy Returns of the re-birthday to the both of you.

May Catspaw pass gas bravely for many many years to come.

And you, my dear, may your ticker be ever as strong physically as it is in spirit.

The zipper tatoo would only have competed with that really attractive ink on your.............

Cheers,

D

The alternative to not having the both of you around doesn't bear thinking about so I am content to let you decide your schedules for yourselves. But I DO want to meet both of you before any crisis of my own and keep in mind that I'm not alone in that ambition. :)

Well, as we say in our family when we hear bad news, OOoooOH. (That is a three note word starting high and dropping one tone and then back up to the starting note.)

I was so looking forward to seeing you, Kat, at the Getaway! But it is probably for the best. It isn't a good idea to try too much too soon. I am learning that with my knee. I tossed the crutches for my wedding day and now I am paying the piper. When it's your heart you do NOT want to have to pay the piper for trying too much.

So rest, recuperate, relax, and remember, I am always awake when everyone else in your time zone is asleep. Call if you need to talk in the wee hours. I so much enjoyed our last call. Send me your number and I'll call you.

We will raise a glass in your honor, come October, Miss Kitty. And wish that you were with us. But better you rest another year and then party all night in '06.
You have been missed around here, lady. Sorely missed.
Love you,
SINS

ONe more thing, for those interested: I have my dad's fiddle now. PLayed it for the first time, yesterday, and again, today. Maybe he ws there helping but I sounded better than I have in ages. I know it has something to do with the fiddle AND, definitely the bow (you were right, bet!), but for not having played in years, I really was surprised!

No worms for me, garg...cremation takes care of that.

Big hugs both for Kat and Spaw, my friends who gave me such warm welcome some years ago, and supported me when I was in the deepest pain. Next July 15 I´ll be singing again with a good jazz&blues band and will think of you. Very happy re-birthday. How about having a rebirth every day ?

Un abrazo - Andrés

I have been away in farrie land awhile... so I missed all this, as I dwelled among the spirits. Oh, all I missed, only to come back sad and whistful... dear girl I am so happy to see you are feeling better, and Spaw is still ticking.

Big hogs and snugs to both of ya'll ;-) I'm so glad to hear that you, kat, have your Daddy's fiddle at last! I just know he's somewhere in the outthere, smilin' up a storm every time you put bow to string. Keep up the gettin' better work, and I'm sure you'll be up to dancin' a fling at the next Getaway!!

And what can I say about Spaw, the cutest lil' saggy assed tortoise in the world . . . well, I guess I just said it ;-)

Love to you both, Áine
