6/28/1746: Bonnie Prince Charlie slipped out of the MacDonald house in drag as Flora MacDonald's maid (but needing a shave and with his trousers slipping down to show below the skirt). He and Flora successfully evaded lots of British troops and informers. On this day, thanks to that heroine, he arrived on the isle of Skye from the Outer Hebrides. "Skye Boat Song" and "Twa Bonnie Maidens" are about that. [thanx Bob Waltz]
