There was a song/ballad that was being performing on stage. I remember the tune, then it went into a balad type of song. Sung: "I want to light a candle for daddy, for daddy will soon be coming home" balad: tells story of a man who went off to war, the mother would take the child to church to light a candle for his return..... he was killed in the war and the story continues to lighting a candle for daddy is now coming home. I wasn't even 10 yrs old, but remember .... there wasn't a dry eye in the crowd. there were 45 LP's sold. I would love to have this song/ballad or the words. I have searched with no luck. Can anyone help? |

I found a description of a 45-rpm record, CUCA 1315, recorded by Redd Stewart with Pee Wee King, of TOO MANY YEARS b/w I WANT TO LIGHT A CANDLE (FOR DADDY). |
