Good. In a way, it is an encouraging story, because it shows that there are folks around like your friends, who are prepared to stand up and do the right thing. More people who take responsibility like they did - and at great risk - make the world a little less safe for the thugs. Too many people say,"It's none of my business", when in acutal fact it is everyone's business. I won't be the only one here to admire your friends. I wish there were more around like them.

They are brave people, so next time they feel like taking on punks they should have stout walking sticks with them. Walking sticks are legal and can give you an edge, but I guess with the bastard legal system we have, they would probably get 10 years for using a weapon...

I'm glad the girl came forward and named the jerk.

BTW - This seems to be happening quite frequently in Canada. Those that intervene seem to get the brunt of it. In Vancouver, a young woman was actually killed when she attempted to intervene in a dispute.

I'm not sure what the answer might be but I certainly admire those that attempt to protect anyone who is being victimized.

I have absolutely no tolerance for the likes of those creeps. What angers me more is that jerk will probably get about 2 months, even if he has a rap sheet the size of a metropliton phone book.

My heart goes out to your friends Clinton. They are brave humane people who don't deserve what happened to them.

Clinton, why TWO threads on this subject?

Seems perfectly reasonable to me. The first one was on the Annexe, when the Cat was down. Now there's one here. I expect more people will see it here - on the other hand, with the Cat bouncing up and down the way it has been, ya never know....

Congratulations to your brave friends. I hope they are okay now. It's amazing when you look at the difference between the mindset of the perpetrator and that of the rescuers - you could see the full range of human behaviour from the different people in that incident. The more I see of people, the more I wonder how we can all be part of the same species. Human beings are capable of such extremes!

Well, here's one kid who ain't gonna be around too long... BTW, the two elderly people he did in were folkies, well known in Kent County, and well liked, by a lot of us.

Piece a shit

I should have mentioned... folk musicians and singers.
