Yep. I'll be at Trowbridge. Also at Towersey. Was at Larmer Tree last weekend. Not going to Sidmouth this year. Going to Eastleigh instead.

"No sessions"????

Clearly you've never been to Trowbridge Mr Happy.

There are sessions all over the place - in the bar, on the campsite, by the stream, in the stalls area, on the grass, in the tents, wherever beautiful people want to make lovely music.

As for you saying it "sounds a bit pricey" Trowbridge is a helluva lot cheaper than Sidmouth this year and has far more variety.

At £135 for a season ticket to just one tented venue Sidmouth must qualify for a "rip-off of the year" award.

Thank you Pumper - we are very worried about are first trip to Trowbridge, we feel very old as it looks more like Glastonbury from the website. You have made it sound much more interesting. Do come and say hello the the mob in blue shirts!

Hi
Jsut to say that a very rare appearance of the Potterne Mummers (not usually seen outside the week before chruistmas) will be performing the Dame Edith Vickers Mumming play on the Saturday of Trowbridge Festival at a spot not a million miles away fromn the Beer Tent no doubt.
No actual time or actual venue yet but beware - they might be behind you!
Bob

Hmm obviosly not a folk festival by the small number of posts on this thread. Sessions were fine so long as you didn't mind being accompanied by the main act half a mile away. Great to see morris there though, made me feel I was in the right place.

Article on Hayseed Dixie in today's Guardian contains the following quote:
The day before we meet, they played something called the Trowbridge Village Pump Festival. "A pump's a fart, right? We played a festival of farting!"
Many a true word .... as they say
