12 Aug 05 - 03:08 PM (#1541226) Subject: RE: BS: The Basic Cause of Rubbish From: Little Hawk Talk about your stupid cartoons, daylia! Muslims may or may not use paper, but they wash themselves thoroughly in all the affected areas with soap and water after using the toilet... and that's way cleaner than just using paper! Try it and see. (So...who are the real cultural barbarians is the question here?) My vote is for (e), although "all of the above" would qualify. But....jOhn is head and shoulders above the rest. He is the Master of Rubbish! He rules. |

12 Aug 05 - 03:57 PM (#1541253) Subject: RE: BS: The Basic Cause of Rubbish From: GUEST,daylia yeah it's really a dumb cartoon ... i know it ... and because it's so stupid, in my book it fit in just perfect with the rest of this Rubbish. I'm finding anything stupid pretty funny today though. I think it's the weather, and the fact that I'm still on holidays. So don't mind me. It'll pass, guaranteed! Hey LH, I'm curious - how do you know so much about how people who wear turbans go to the bathroom? And are you sure everyone wearing a turban is a Muslim? I don't think so ... .... but I still vote for People, just plain ole People, as the Basic Cause of Rubbish. Unless, unless .... wait, I know! It's Little Hawk! Maybe Little Hawk is the Basic Cause of Rubbish! :-D If I can't vote for People, could I vote for LH, then? |

12 Aug 05 - 09:06 PM (#1541421) Subject: RE: BS: The Basic Cause of Rubbish From: Little Hawk Yes, daylia, I have not only heard of bidets, I have used one or two! Clever people, the French. I like 'em. Specially the women... ;-) But I digress. The reason I know how Muslims wash themselves is mainly that I have known quite a few Muslims for decades now and visited at their houses, and I noticed that they often have a water pitcher placed near the toilet, and I must have asked why. But that was a long time ago. You are right that not all turban-wearers are Muslims. Some are Sikhs, and there may be others as well, but I'm not sure. Matter of fact, I think that it IS mostly Sikhs who wear turbans, and they are similarly fastidious about washing the body. Come on, people, VOTE! This is a vital question of our time! |

When I first came here, I noticed that there was a vast proliferation of rubbish occuring on a daily basis on the forum. It was fascinating and amusing. Some of the most creative and bizarre rubbish emanated from Spaw, but that was the "old days". Much has changed since then. I decided if he could do it, why shouldn't I? That's my excuse. I really should have put Shambles on the official voting list. Darn! |

15 Aug 05 - 10:39 AM (#1542215) Subject: RE: BS: The Basic Cause of Rubbish From: Amos Humans aiding and abetting entropy... What a wonderful, precise identification of the major crime of humanity. The few, the aware, the over-loaded struggle through bringing about order and creeativity, seeking social inventions and physical inventions which will make things better. But upon the backs of these tortured analytical and creative few ride the Entropic Dramatizations of the many. I tell ya, there oughta be a law!! "Let it be law henceforth that ANY PERSON, real or fictitious in the meaning of the law, who aids, abets, dramatizes, acts out or promulgates the impact, effects, mechanisms, ideation, ideology, or purposes of entropy within the boundaries of the United States shall be deemed guilty of a midemeanour punishable by up to four years of complete exhaustion oor by a comparable community-service punishment consisting of 3 weeks of unalleviated exposure to North Park videos and George Jones recordings." ------------------------------- The clang of iron doors swinging shut is heard in the background, as is the mutter of hundreds of disconsolate, angry male voices. Pan in on the inner chambers of The Big House, a large, mildewed penitentiary where hopeless guards control hopeless inmates in a shadowy hinterland rarely seen by the dozy American public. Zoom in on Eaton Klein, 6'4", gaunt, ragged in his over-used prison garb. Eaton sidles up to a sad looking younger man whose prison overhauls are still fresh-looking, a new arrival, fresh meat. He speaks out of the side of his mouth to afvoid attracting the sadistic attention of the bulls. EATON: "Whaddya infer, pal???" NEW MAN: "Entropy" EATON: "Whaddfug? Whassat?" NEW MAN: "Da bums got me for aiding and abetting entropy, I tell ya!" EATON: "No kiddin'!!! Entropy, huh? Whadja do to pull that rap?" NEW MAN: "I Didn't do nouffin', I tellya! I wuz jes' waiting fer my goilfrien' in my Escalante, see, and I let the motor idle an' she was taking a long time to do herself up right, see, like goils are, ya know? Not that that is any excuse, but lets not go all speciest here. The famous process engineer -- the man who taught the Japanese how to make cars -- W. Edwards Deming -- always used to emphasize that the problem was never the individual, it was in the process. I dunno if you chimps have a similar principle but maybe we could generalizer and say "The problem is never in the species, but in the planetary processes". What would your baananaphilic cousins think of that idea? A |
