IF it's the UK, there are several location finders that let you put in the postcode of the venue you are after and then shows you the best route there. Padgett Gainsborough is in the Uk, in Lincolnshire I get when I can; it is held once every 2 weeks and alternates with Market Rasen FC, also in Lincolnshire The Gainsboro club I get to via A1 travelling from the North, The Blyth (i think spelling ok) roundabout and go to Bawtry (near Doncaster) It's sort of on the border of Nottinghamshire/Yorkshire/Lincolnshire ~ (actually just in Lincolnshire) side of the Canal, on the Trent river Anything different no doubt I will be corrected as usual Used to be at Eight Jolly Brewers but isnt now ~ check out their thread information |

I have a friend who lives in Gainsborough and I visit a couple of times a year but have managed to miss any musical pursuits unfortunately.There is a nice Blues Club there and my buddy says the Folk Club can be quite good at times but they won't let him join because he is under 75 and lacks the prerequisite beard.LOL.Love the Jolly Brewers Pub a stonesthrow away from Wetherspoons and the other one opposite with the Pool Table down the left hand side. Still England beat them in 1977. And that wasn't the first time. They won in 1930. And 1905. So they might at least hold out for one of those tedious draws. I'd apologise for thread drift, except that this doesn't seem to count as drift in a Gainsborough thread. |

I think it's become part of the broader Darley empire. The farm got plenty of attention last year when a colt named "Smarty Jones" ran undefeated thru the Kentucky Derby and The Preakness Stakes, only to be beaten late in the cruel 12 furlongs of The Belmont. Smarty's sire, "Elusive Quality" is a Gainesborough stallion. They also stand "Shadeed" and "Quiet American" in their complex. It's like a garden. It's like a fortress. |
