Here's another one I need help on...this one comes from the other Grandma...she is 90...the only song she ever heard her mother sing...then she only sang parts of it.....goes:
"We kiss on the sly, when no one is neigh out by the old kitchen door"....not much to work with but..or it could be "we court on the sly" thanks again,,,,Margaret

We kiss on the sly
When no one is nigh
Out by the old kitchen door.
I paw at her bra,
She fumbles my fly,

(I can't keep this up any more).

At least Paul's song rhymed.

From: Jim Dixon

Probably not the song that is wanted, but where else would I get a chance to post this?

From The Library of Congress American Memory Collection

KISS ON THE SLY
C. C. De Nordendorf, 1870

1. I know that young and old with me agree in this:
There's nothing as delicious as a stolen kiss.
What is more spicy than knowing danger nigh,
In spite of all watching, to kiss on the sly?

CHORUS: Ye bashful youths and maidens, watch your chance and try,
For there's nothing sweeter than a kiss on the sly. REPEAT

2. Some enjoy flirtations or moonlight promenades,
While others feel happy with drives through pleasant glades.
All this is splendid fun, but better still, think I,
Yes, most delightful is a kiss on the sly.

3. Of course, girls won't submit (though secretly right glad),
But threaten to "call mother," and struggle and be mad;
All this is proper, but when no one is nigh,
Don't mind their little airs and kiss them on the sly.

WHILE WE SIT BY THE OLD KITCHEN DOOR

There's a sweet little maid I'll tell you about
She's fairer than all you could see
To me, she is true, of that I've no doubt
My dear little wife she will be
We court on the sly, when nobody's nigh
And promises to love ever more
The moments are sweet, my joy is complete
While we sit by the old kitchen door

CHORUS
All on the sly, there's no prying eye,
Sweet kisses we share by the score
In love's golden glow, we speak soft and low
While we sit by the old kitchen door

Some court in the park, some court in the dark
They all like to court unawares
Some stand in the hall quite close to the wall
And some like to sit on the stairs
Some court on the street and think they look sweet
Some court while they waltz round the floor
But if you would see my sweetheart and me
Come round by the old kitchen door

CHO

Some stroll by the brook To a still shady nook
And some take a seat by the stove
Some sit half the night and turn down the light
While fondly they're talking of love
Some court on the train, and some in the rain
And some in a nice candy stoore
Go in for ice cream while deep in love's dream
But give me the old kitchen door.

CHO

Could be the right one?

Bravo, John. I'd bet it is the right one. I hope Margaret comes back and sees it.
