25 Aug 05 - 07:32 PM (#1549828) Subject: RE: Amon Duul II From: woodsie Yes but some is harder to get than others. Look for the 2001 or later releases which are digipaks with original artwork and booklets and have bonus material. I got them from amazon. |

20 Oct 05 - 11:38 AM (#1587032) Subject: RE: Amon Duul II From: Kenneth Ingham The later albums are not even by the original line up I think by the 1990s they were playing fairly conformist rock. I recommend the first five albums. Phallus Dei, Yeti, Dance Of The Lemmings,Carnival In Babylon and Wolf City. |

15 Dec 05 - 12:17 AM (#1627734) Subject: RE: Amon Duul II From: Lancashire Lad Dont ya just love Mudcat? The only folk and blues forum to include Krautrock! Yes stick with early Amon for the best stuff. Also venture towards Ashra Temple too. Trying to keep a "folk" element to this thread, the following are all excellent bands from the same era and country. Brosselmachine Popul Vuh Emtidi Holderleins Traum Bloody 'ell its only 5am and I'm talking about German acid - folk. Strange world! Cheers LL |

15 Dec 05 - 08:12 PM (#1628368) Subject: RE: Amon Duul II From: GUEST,AR282 I always thought "Archangel's Thunderbird" was a sixties example of punk. There was also an Amon Duul I that were much more political. AD2's bassist, Lothar Meid, also did some solo work. I had one of his albums from way back when. Another really good band from that era was White Noise, whom I believe were from England. Really great English-folk-rock mixed with electronix and tape FX that were really innovative. I think the bandleader was David Voorhees or something. "Black Mass: An Electric Storm" was a good example. |

Ive been trying for ages to get hold of a CD of his solo album called Mensch, Deiser Klaus (or similar). It features Keef Hartley on drums. Anyone here know where I can get it? If not, anyone prepared to burn a CDR? Cheets LL |
