Meaning "Folklore", But Bruce back in the 60's (I think I'm correct in the approxmate years), wrote this song that is very powerful. He probabaly was around Seventeen at the time. This recording was made in 1965 when Bruce was 17 years old. The song addresses racism and segregation in Mississippi as it was at the time. |

The thread did come up twice following but again I chose to ignore it. However, since it has taken a further step ( all words are published) I want to say that when I heard this song I was immediately taken to it (thanks Bobad). As sad as it is, this song speaks the truth. I don't think prejudice is as bad as it was back when you wrote this song but it is still there in many forms. The melody is also very well done. When I met Bobad last month and he introduce it to me he was also very impressed. I have met a number of people who knew you when you were living in the Montreal area and all speak of what a great writer you are. And Penny Lang is right at the top of this list. Beer (Ad.) |
