Stuck what to do this Saturday? All folkie friends are very warmly invited to this event. If you want to sing or play just turn up and enjoy the day.The Sair Inn is found at Hoyle Ing, Linthwaite, Huddersfield. Approx 3 miles from Huddersfield in the Colne Valley as you travel towards Slaithwaite/Marsden/Uppermill on the A62 (Manchester Rd). If getting a bus from Hudds get off at "Bargate", Linthwaite, and walk up the steep hill to the Sair. This proper Yorkshire pub, over 300 yrs old, is a micro-brewery serving 10 real ales and has 4 seperate rooms which are ideal for undisturbed musician sessions or sing-arounds (or both!) The day starts at 1.00pm with morris dancing outside and rolls seamlessly into an evening of playing/singing till 11.00pm. Take-away food can be ordered and eaten in the pub to help keep body and soul together. Come prepared for a full day out and enjoy this exceptional pub & atmosphere. With your help let's make this a proper folk day to remember.

...but is there anywhere I can plonk my (tiny) caravan? I don't do drink-driving, just drunk singing and even drunker playing.

John
(currently quite sober)

Yes John, you'll be able to park your caravan on the streets below the Sair Inn. As the Sair is on a steep hill, preferably park on one of the HORIZONTAL streets that intersect the hill.
Most local homesteads have garages/drives to put their cars so finding somewhere to park by the kerb should'nt be a problem.

We'll be there. Really looking forward to it. Is one of the rooms at the Sair non-smoking???

Aye, as you go in the Sair the first room on your left is the "No Smoking" room. This room has a door that can be shut to encourage intimate sing-arounds etc (but it's not the "Snug"!).

Good to meet you all up there. Lovely afternoon. I'm now back with bubba in bed (I'm not in bed, but he is), but hubby continues to make music up the hill. Great vibe, go and check it out if you're in the area - ends at 11. F
