"Oh, yeah, the boy can play."

Worked as the MC at Gerde's Folk City when he performed there for a week in the 1960s (1966?). Nice guy and man oh man could he control a room. He mesmerized his audiences, and rightly so. I checked his hands--he has four fingers and a thumb on each, which came a real surprise to me. His voice was outta sight, and his rendition of "La Bamba" was WOW!, and WOW! again.

Thanks for the personal on the man, Peace. For some artists, some great but currently unknown ones, I'm reluctant to post details. I feel that those who know him/her will know and for those who don't, it doesn't much matter what feeble ramblings I might post. Perhaps I'm just posting for myself here.

I'm very pleased you saw this one and did offer some understanding for people.

A friend of mine who used to sing on a Manchester radio show in the sixties recounts a horribly embarrassing moment when Feliciano guested on the programme.
Following a stunning performance from Jose, my friend felt compelled to say a few words of congratulation to the visiting star and began by asking how he was enjoying the current tour.
Jose explained that he liked touring except for the fact that, because of the quarantine regulations, he couldn't bring his dog with him.
Having been already introduced to an "elderly" looking Mrs. Feliciano, my pal commiserated and added "..still, it's nice that your mother's with you"
To which Mr.Feliciano replied, "Hey Man! That's my WIFE!!"

My friend still cringes at the recollection!

C-flat.

I am a 'faithful' reader. I seldom have anything cogent to add to your posts, so I read them for information. However, there are two threads I always open--those by Hakman (Donuel) and those by you. Keep up the good work. A fan in the wilds of the north.
