13 Sep 05 - 01:26 AM (#1562483) Subject: Song Challenge: Bushie Was a Warrior From: Mark Cohen On Saturday at the San Francisco Festival of the Sea I heard at least three or four versions of "Boney Was a Warrior," and there's a current thread about the song. So this popped into my head, and rather than try to come up with fifteen or twenty verses on my own, I thought I'd troll a couple and see what bites. Feel free to process, twist, mangle, steal, whatever. BUSHIE WAS A WARRIOR Bushie was a warrior Way, hey, yah! An anti-terror worrier George Dub-yah! He went to Yale for drink-eye-in' He wasn't much for think-eye-in' Well Bushie was his Daddy's boy The State of Texas was his toy His Daddy fought the Roosh-eye-ans But George pissed off the Proosh-eye-ans The hurricane was threatenin' But Bushie was vacationin' Well New Orleans was in a fix So Bushie played some guitar licks And so on... Obviously I've left out some stuff...like the election, and Iraq, and Cheney, and Halliburton, and the Saudis, and Condoleeza Rice, and Mission Accomplished, and... Have fun! Aloha, Mark |

You might be interested in the following DT thread: http://www.mudcat.org/thread.cfm?threadid=79667#1454579 It contains a bunch of anti-Bush songs by DT'ers, plus some outside goodies from Yikes McGee, Peggy Seeger and so on. It also has links to earlier anti-Bush song threads. The anti-Bush song movement is alive and well. If you scroogle that term, you'll find quite a variety out there on the web. Long may it wave. |

The tune is "I Went Down to the River to Pray" (As sung in "Oh Brother Where Ar Thou?") I am going to DC To tell George W to listen to me. To tell him the war in Iraq must end, Oh who'll stand with me. Thousands lost to Bush's pride. How many more young men must die? Thousands lost to Bush's pride Oh who'll stand with me. Thousands lost to Bush's pride How many more young women must die? etc. Thousands lost to Bush's pride. How many more little children must die. Thousands etc. |
