Great singer and writer. One day when we can afford it I want to get him up to Quebec and play at our festival. Beer |

15 Sep 05 - 08:40 PM (#1564717) Subject: RE: new folk club in N Florida From: Beer Word of caution. I've heard Brendan say that he only likes to play in venues that want to hear Irish /Scotch. He said that many places advertise as such but hire rock, country and so on. Beer |

16 Sep 05 - 10:30 AM (#1564897) Subject: RE: new folk club in N Florida From: Abby Sale Beer: If I understand your warning, I don't think it's much of a problem. White Springs Folk Club is unlikely to overemphesize rock music. Really, very unlikely. I think Nolan's a fine musician but I'd like to hear him to less commercial versions and songs than I've heard so far. He's well-known on the Florida circuit. I'd happily cede (minor, anyway) body parts to be able to get up to the club. Wish I could. |

21 Jan 06 - 11:46 PM (#1653230) Subject: RE: new folk club in N Florida From: Scotus Just back from the night with John Maze, Larre Reeves and Mick Richmond! We were jampacked with around 70 highly enthused folk who heard some great Irish music and songs. It looks as if the club is really on a roll! Next month it's all happening on the 18th and the guests are The Short Sisters. Jack Beck |
