I just wondered if anyone has seen Colvin Quarmby anywhere, and if so, what do you think of them please?

Colvin Quarmby are fantastic, wonderful, lovely, lively, I have seen them loads of times:-)

This year I have seen them at Weymouth, Ely and Bridgnorth Festival's

They sing all original songs written by Gerry Colvin with thoughtful, funny and sharp lyrics.

They make you laugh and cry all at the same time.

I saw them for the first time ever at Bridgnorth this year and I was blown away. Had only heard one song of thiers before (The Right Stop from A Short Walk To The Red Lion) and I feel in love when I saw them live.

Gerry's enthusiam and joy for what he does are unmatchable and the songs are superbly crafted and great for singalongs :D

I'll second that. I've seen them 20 or 30 times, and they've always gone down a storm. Gerry is a fantastic songwriter who writes catchy singalong songs as well as some stunning quiter numbers.

Very entertaining live, but their recorded output shows that there's ture quality there.

Colvin Quarmby are really great live. Lots of upbeat stuff, but also some VERY moving slower songs. Gerry Colvin is a superb songwriter, and the rest of the band are excellent musicians too.

In my mind CQ are very like Squeeze, and quite a lot of Gerry's songwriting is up there with Glenn Tilbrook & Chris Diffords too.

I really enjoy Colvin Quarmby's music. My copy of Beth's Electric Birthday arrived yesterday and it is one of those albums that can make you laugh and cry.

Colvin Quarmby are great live and Gerry Colvin is entertaining and unusual in his presentation. The musicianship is excellant.

Colvin Quarmby are having an "undressed" tour next year which, I think, is an acoustic tour and venues are gradually being annouced. If you have any inkling of seeing them at all buy yourself and your friends tickets. You will not be disappointed.

I saw them at Bridgnorth last year. We nearly walked out after the first few songs (in fact Tim did leave) because they were VERY LOUD and the distortion onthe sound system made it very difficult to hear the lyrics. However Sue and I stuck it out, and once they had calmed down they were magnificent. You could have heard a pin drop in the marquee when Gerry sang "House of the Setting Sun".

We talked to them offstage, and Gerry is just the same, he always seems delighted that people actually like their stuff, and seems amazed that anyone should want to see them again. We saw them twice at Bridgnorth this year, and enjoyed both sets.

ColvinQuarmby are brilliant. Gerry Colvin writes from his heart, probably the cleverest, most imaginative, catchy, soul searching, sweet, tragic yet heart warming songs you're ever likely to hear. I've lost count of the number of times I've seen them and every time feels fresh and new. They were outstanding at Bridgnorth, and caused a real buzz around the place, Gerry had everyone in the Marquee, which must have been over 1000 people, singing their hearts out one minute and spellbound the next.
Four great musicians, top notch entertainment, don't hesitate to go and see them if you get a chance

Saw them at Bridgnorth this year, myself and kids were blown away, they were fantastic. I was laughing one minute and almost crying the next (house of the setting sun). I still have the flowers from the red pot.
Will definately go out of my way to see them again and am in process of ordering albums.

You kept the flowers:-0 , I gave them back when they gave them to me at Banbury, I wish I had kept them, I love the sound the red pot makes.

The house of the setting sun is very moving and also I love Feathers from Angels.

I have been a CQ fan for about 4 or 5 years now.
We booked them for our club's very first evening and we had a ball.
We have them returning in the spring to our club which will be interesting, as our present venue is very much smaller than the old one and fitting the band in will require liberal vaseline!
Still we managed to get Tanglefoot in - JUST! (5 piece Canadian band).
I think anyone seeing CQ live will enjoy the experience and yes Gerry does wave his hands around in excitement all the time and it is genuine! One of the nicest group of people to meet after a gig too!
