17 Sep 05 - 03:19 PM (#1565655) Subject: Has anyone recorded 'Gasoline?' From: rogerontheoldtraps Slim Chance & the Survivors have long performed a song titled "Gasoline" (which Slim often attributes to David Bromberg) which says in part, "She's got eyes like crystal water Lips like ruby wine A body like fine brandy And a soul like turpentine Oh, Ma, she treats her daddy so damn mean (so damn mean) When I ask for water She brings me gasoline..." Is there a recording of this song available by anyone? I haven't found a recording of it by Bromberg, perhaps he does it in his live act. rogerontheoldtraps Abilene, Texas |

It just occurred to me you could do a gentler, bawdier version 'she treats her daddy oh so fine, when I ask for lovin' she brings the vasoline' |
